public class MoneyListCell<T extends java.lang.Number>
extends LabelListCell<T>

A class containing a ListCell implementation for a money cell, which can format numbers such that they appear as to represent a currency.

Note that this class extends CSSListCell, which allows for easy CSS styling. This class adds the money-cell style class. In addition, it adds two pseudo class states: negative and positive. Using these, it is possible to provide CSS styling to customise the look of the cell. For example, the default CSS for the Money*Cell implementations is the following:

Creates a default cell with a style class of 'money-cell'.

MoneyListCell

Creates a default cell with the given Locale, and the default style class of 'money-cell'.

Parameters:

locale - The locale to use when rendering the number as a currency. If this is null, the the default (i.e. local) locale is used.

getCssState

public void getCssState(java.util.List<java.lang.String> s)

Override this method to specify which pseudo class states the cell is in, based on the item that is currently contained within it. For example, the MoneyCellFactory implementation of this method might resemble the following: TODO: Example removed Doing this, it is now posible to style the cell based on these psuedo class states. For example, assuming the MoneyCellFactory had a style class of 'money-cell' (which it does), you could then have CSS along the lines of the following:

 .money-cell:positive {
   -fx-text-fill: green;
 }
 .money-cell:negative {
   -fx-text-fill: red;
 }
 

This CSS results in positive values being green, and negative values being red. By exposing the pseudo class states in CSS, it is possible for the cell to be totally styled using CSS. This makes it trivial to reuse the cell with an entirely different look.

getCssState in class CSSListCell<T extends java.lang.Number>

Parameters:

s - A List of Strings which represent the current state of the cell. It is legal to add further strings to the list, to specify further states.

toString

public java.lang.String toString(T item)

A method that can be overridden by the developer to specify an alternate formatting of the given item argument. By default, this just calls toString() on the item, or returns an empty string if the item is null.

Overrides:

toString in class LabelListCell<T extends java.lang.Number>

Parameters:

item - The item for which a String representation is required.

Returns:

An empty string if item is null, or a string representation if it is not.
